Today, the BART Directors and BART Police Chief announce that their investigation into the Oscar Grant shooting is finished. The protests continue as the case goes to the District Attorney.

KGO-TV’s Liveblog reports:

BART has completed its internal investigation and sent its findings to the Alameda County district attorney.

BART officials will not say what happened or what conclusion the investigation reached.

Seven officers present at the Fruitvale station at the time of the shooting were interviewed. Former BART Officer Johannes Mesherle was interviewed during the investigation but would not say anything and invoked his Fifth Amendment rights. BART investigators interviewed 21 people altogether.

Representatives from the Oakland Police Department, as well as BART General Manager Dorothy Dugger and BART Police Chief Gary Gee are present at the press conference.

“Now it is the DA’s responsibility to decide whether to file charges in this case,” Dugger said.

Indybay announced an Oscar Grant rally at 5pm today (January 12) at the San Francisco Civic Center.

[BART Riders] found flyers that look like something BART might issue, until you read the text.

The anonymous author compares BART Police to a violent gang saying, “All members of this gang, which refers to itself as the “BART Police” are known to carry firearms.” It goes on to say, “This vigilante group considers itself above the law.”

I was on BART and saw the flier you mentioned you looking for. This is the only place I’ve seen it online, but it’s missing the back side.

this whole deal is really so sad. i hate to sound like an overused cliche’ but the real criminals are not entirely the BART police but the system that exonerates their behavior.

Don’t people understand? If someone, anyone is assigned a law enforcing job, and someone screws up (or not) JUST LISTEN AND DO AS DIRECTED. LET THE OFFICER OR SECURITY GUARD DO HIS JOB. IF GRANT DIDN’T RESIST, IT WOULD NOT OF ESCALATED TO HIM BEING SHOT! CONDOLENCES TO GRANT AND HIS FAMILY. Hopefully the legal system will work and Mesherle is found not guilty.

Think about it. A black man shoots and kills 4 Police Officers that weren’t doing anything wrong. A police officer kills a black man (in the line of duty) and everyone raises a stink. People are so GHETTO! It is the 2010 year. Grow the F$#@ UP!

I mourn everyday for the murder of Oscar Grant, yet it troubles me how people are all too surprised at this crime and the verdict. For centuries this sick twisted system has failed us. Racists have attempted time and time again to bring us to our knees and this morphed kind of ‘justice’ does nothing but proove to the men out there so content on killing our pride that they can and will get away ith it. Oscar Grant is simpy repeating itself , I hate to say it but that boy is lucky, he no longer has to suffer this crule racist world. ‘JUST LISTEN’ calls us Ghetto, but what e really are is angry and bitter, bitter from the injustice bittr from the hate and the pain we have been forced to become used to. Emmet Till , Huey P. Newton , the list goes on and on not just murdered but the men responsible for there deaths were never brought to justice, but Im sure it does not come as a suprise to you , because im sure to you JUST LISTEN the men the dismembered and murdered 14 year old Emmet Till in cold blood were just doing their job as well. You may be ‘Grown Up’ but you are still ignorant. So to you JJUST LISTEN I tell you not to “Grow Up” but to WAKE UP.
